How to Check IMEI on a Samsung Phone
Every Samsung Galaxy has a unique IMEI. Knowing how to find it is the first step to checking warranty, carrier lock and blacklist status.
Fastest way: dial *#06#
Open the Phone app and dial *#06#. The IMEI appears instantly on most Samsung devices. It works even if the phone has no SIM.
Through Settings
Go to Settings → About phone → Status → IMEI information. On newer Galaxy models the path may be Settings → About phone → IMEI.
On the box or SIM tray
The original box has the IMEI printed on the label. Some Samsung models also print it on the SIM tray. If the phone will not turn on, these are your best options.
What to do with the IMEI
Run the Samsung Warranty & KG Check for warranty and lock info, and the GSMA Blacklist Check for lost/stolen status. For an all-in-one view, use the Full IMEI Check.
Bottom line
*#06# is the fastest way. Once you have the IMEI, run a full check before buying or selling any Samsung Galaxy.
